Artist Renee' Kennedy started creating at a very young age sitting with her mother painting watercolors. Her career has afforded her many opportunities, she partnered in four fine art galleries, the latest being six years and over thirty group exhibitions with the New Town Art Gallery. Kennedy has formed a following and her paintings and sculpture are in homes and businesses across the United States and Europe.

December 19th, 6-8 PM 'A Festive Evening of Opera and more with Branch Fields'

New Town Art Gallery and Opera in Williamsburg are proud to present 'A Festive Evening of Opera and more with Branch Fields' on Friday, December 19th between 5-7 PM.  Admission is free and refreshments will be served.Branch Fields, whom Opera America describes as "a bass of resonant richness," and The New York Times declared to be "a gifted young bass," is delighting audiences and critics alike with his glorious instrument and leading man looks in opera, concert and musical theater. He has sung with Santa Fe Opera, New York City Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Carolina, Michigan Opera Theatre, Utah Opera, Opera San Jose, and many other regional opera companies throughout the U.S. In concert, Branch has performed with the Munich Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra, Santa Fe Symphony, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and the American Symphony Orchestra.

Branch’s versatility as a singing actor led to his Broadway debut in SOUTH PACIFIC, understudying the role of Emile de Becque in this Lincoln Center Theater production. This monumental 2008 revival won 7 Tony Awards.

In October 2014, he sang the role of Raimondo in Opera in Williamsburg's production of Gaetano Donizetti's opera 'Lucia di Lammermoor.' 

December 5th, 6-8 PM for our Holiday Celebration

New Town Art Gallery welcomes you to join us on December 5th 2014, 5-8pm for a festive evening of music by David Saxton & dance performances by the Virginia Regional Ballet, light hors d'oeuvers, wine and art! Our resident artists will showcase new artwork and you can admire works from our four visiting artists.

Wednesday, October 15th, 6-8 PM Curtain Raiser for "Lucia di Lammermoor" by Gaetano Donizetti

New Town Art Gallery will host the cast of Opera in Williamsburg, who will perform several arias in the gallery as a curtain raiser to their performance of"Lucia di Lammermoor" by Gaetano Donizetti. Join us for an evening of art, music and refreshments.
 

Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti is a gripping story of love, loss, and madness, set to exquisitely beautiful music.  It is based on a famous novel by Sir Walter Scott and is one of the best loved operas in world repertoire. Full performances will take place at Colonial Williamsburg's Kimball Theater on October 22nd and 24th.

"A Lucky Night in the Orient"

New Town Art Gallery presents "A Lucky Night in the Orient" to celebrate their 4th Anniversary on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 5 - 8 p.m.  

We will be having a fundraiser for the OWL Fund (Oliver Wesolowski Leukemia Fund), to help a precious little boy in Williamsburg, 10-month-old Oliver Wesolowski, who was diagnosed with leukemia in March.

New Town Art Gallery will host the cast of Opera in Williamsburg who will perform several arias as a curtain-raiser to their performance of Donizetti's 'Don Pasquale' which will take place at The Kimball Theater on April 9th and 11th.  It should be a glorious fun-filled evening and it is a chance to meet and talk to these wonderful young professional singers about their views on how they will be presenting composer Gaetano Donizetti's classic opera.

The Williamsburg Players cast of "Cats" will perform a couple of numbers from the musical and we will be introducing our two new visiting artists as well as having new works by our resident artists.
